This construction prevents down from shifting downward and reduces lateral movement of the insulation. This is a key detail for hammock camping (where the hammock fabric presses against the topquilt). The foot end of the Taiga 480 topquilt is shaped to provide ample space for your feet (shark fin design). The neck opening is adjustable, and the upper edge is surrounded by a down-filled collar. The closed foot-box section extends up to approximately the knees. The open upper edges of the topquilt can be fastened together with a detachable elastic cord.
