These Kyanite beads at first glance look to be opaque, but when you look a bit closer, you can see that they have a lot of translucence to them. They are surprisingly nice beads! They are not all translucent, but they let a bit of light through which makes the blue a bit brighter & vibrant. Kyanite takes well to organic, natural designs and in a more rough, irregular cut & color it is absolutely perfect! These are still somewhat shimmery and have a decent denim blue with a helping of lighter sky color (see image) regardless of the grade. As you can see in the image, they are quite irregular in cut – they are faceted nuggets, so they are supposed to be irregular, and they are. Kyanite is also known as Disthene, Rhaeticite, & Cyanite.
